After graduating with a BA (Hons) in Texile Design from the Winchester School of Art, specialising in Print and winning the Sainsbury's Award for best print portfolio, Rachel completed her MA in Printed Textiles at the Royal College of Art (see RCA Exhibition) in 2008.

She studied Weave, Knit and Print in Paris through the Erasmus Exchange for Textile Design, and has worked for the fashion design company c.neeon in Berlin and London, where she helped organise the c.neeon stand and catwalk show for London Fashion Week, while her drawing skills were in demand for their Winter Collection 2006. She also gained from her time working with Rob Ryan in his London studio.

Rachel applied her skills and knowledge in the world of textile design and illustration, most recently working on a commission to produce a range of lithographs drawn from the natural landscape of her home county of Norfolk.

Sadly, Rachel died after a short illness in 2015, but her art remains as a legacy to her unique approach as a fine artist.

In her own words:

'The gap between rural and urban life has never been greater or under such scrutiny as it is today. I want to address this issue through contrasting imagery of modern industrial reality and the perceived notions of rural idyllic life.
Through illustrative lino cut originating through drawings made from everyday context, I want to bring a hand-made warmth to my work.'

She was taken from us just as her work was beginning to achieve the recognition it deserved, but she will live on in all our hearts, and her art.
